As a collector, you transport or arrange for the transport of this non-hazardous waste to licensed treatment facilities. As a trader, you buy and sell this non-hazardous waste, even if you do not take physical possession of the waste;
As a broker, you organise the recovery or disposal of this non-hazardous waste for a third party, even if you do not take physical possession of the waste.
Requirements
Designate a person who is sufficiently trained in the knowledge of waste and waste management legislation, either by means of diplomas, certificates or attestations, or through equivalent professional experience (via exemption) and designate a person who has knowledge of: the characteristics and hazards of the waste; appropriate packaging; and the safety requirements of the waste. This knowledge must be evidenced by higher education diplomas in scientific subjects, or an equivalent diploma proving knowledge in the field of hazardous waste.
