Brussels aims to tackle problem areas and improve them in a sustainable manner. This is why the Brussels-Capital Region has entered into a number of sustainable neighbourhood contracts with the municipalities of Anderlecht, Ixelles, Jette, Koekelberg, Saint-Gilles, Molenbeek-Saint-Jean, Saint-Josse-ten-Noode, Schaerbeek, Forest and the City of Brussels.
The various projects consist of:
· the renovation and construction of homes
· the renovation and construction of areas for traditional craftsmanship or industrial activities
· the re-organisation of open spaces
· the creation or expansion of socio-cultural, sporting or other infrastructure and facilities in the neighbourhood
On the Urban Regeneration Service website, you can read all about these sustainable neighbourhood contracts. You can search on a map of Brussels by project or by municipality.
