Having a choice is a good thing! But how can you use this freedom wisely?
How to choose?
If you have decided to choose your supplier and weigh them up against each other, the key is to compare offers carefully before signing a contract.
Different criteria can influence your choice:
- The price: fixed or variable price depending on the energy prices on the market.
- Customer services: waiting time on the phone, energy-saving tips, etc.
- Other factors, such as the ability to buy green energy.
How to compare them
BRUGEL has developed an IT tool, the BruSim simulator, which enables you to compare all the offers made by the electricity and gas suppliers in the Brussels-Capital Region.
To do this:
- Have your last annual electricity or gas bill to hand.
- Enter your data.
- You will get a list of suppliers and their prices, according to the data you entered. The list will be divided between fixed-price and variable-price offers.
- You can select several offers for a more detailed comparison.
- Save your result as a PDF or CSV (Excel file) or receive a copy by email.
Can I choose more than one energy supplier?
Gas and electricity are two distinct energies and each is connected to a different meter.
This means that you can choose one supplier for gas and another for electricity or one for both.
Do you need personalised help?
