When the Regional Housing Inspection has decided that a dwelling may no longer be rented, the landlord must obtain a conformity check attestation before he can rent out the dwelling again. This document proves that all the necessary works to rent out the dwelling again have been carried out. The attestation must be sent to the municipality so as to cancel a decision that might have been made to carry out the rent ban.
Do you want to rent out a dwelling again after a rent ban? To do this, you first need to carry out all the necessary works to make the dwelling compliant so that you can obtain a conformity check attestation. You cannot rent out your dwelling again until you have obtained this attestation.
To apply for a certificate of conformity check you must send the following documents to Brussels Housing:
- application form for a conformity check certificate
- pay the administrative costs of €50 by bank transfer (references will be sent after receipt of the application).
Then, a visit of the property will verify the conformity of the dwelling.
