Would you like to be politically engaged? Would you like to contribute to our democracy? Be our guest! Brussels has many organisations to encourage young people to participate in politics. We list the possibilities on the French-speaking side.
Le Conseil de la Jeunesse
The French-speaking Youth Council is the advisory council for children and young people within the French-speaking Community - i.e. in Wallonia and Brussels. Their mission is to give young people a say at national and international level. The Youth Council defends their interests. You can find more information on the website of 'Le Conseil de la Jeunesse' (only available in French).
Le Parlement Jeunesse
Once a year, around 80 young people between the ages of 17 and 26 besiege the Parliament of the French Community in Brussels, and step into the shoes of a Member of Parliament for the 'Parlement Jeunesse'. The young people take part in debates on social issues. Would you like to participate? You can find more information on the website of 'Le Parlement Jeunesse' (only available in French).
La Fédération des Centres d'Information et de Documentation pour Jeunes (CIDJ)
The French Community brings together a vast amount of useful information on a wide range of projects, issues and events for young people on their website (only available in French).
Espace Citoyen
The portal site for citizens of the French Community (website only available in French) offers a wide range of information to young people. The website aims to encourage young people to be active citizens, to debate, and be engaged within their community.
