Learning to read and write in Brussels

In Belgium, one in ten adults has difficulty with reading, writing or arithmetic. In metropolitan areas, such as the Brussels-Capital Region, the problem is even more acute. Various organisations and institutions organise courses and training sessions to tackle illiteracy.

On the Dutch-speaking side, this is the Centre for Basic Education. The Brussels subsection is Brusselleer – Centrum Basiseducatie Brussel (Brussels Centre for Basic Education) non-profit association. You can find all information on their website.
