If you wish to stand for election, you must meet the same conditions as for voting:
· You must have Belgian nationality.
· You must live in a Belgian municipality and be registered in the population register
· You must not be excluded from the right to vote
To be eligible for the parliamentary elections, you must be at least 21 years old.
Municipal elections are also open to people who are nationals of one of the 27 Member States of the European Union. This does not apply to non-European nationals.
